The Schlagheck Family has gained trust and knowledge in the floor covering business in St. Cloud and Central Minnesota since 1965. Ken, owner of Traditional Floors, began as an installer for two years before moving to the customer service side of the business at his father’s store, Granite City Floor Covering, in 1965. After his father, Orville, was hurt in an accident, Ken took over responsibilities and ran Granite City Floor Covering for the next 25 years.
 
When Ken’s parents made the decision to close Granite City Floors, Ken & his wife, Pam, decided to continue the tradition and start their own flooring business. Traditional Floors & Design opened May 7th, 2002 and quickly expanded into the beautiful showroom it is today. They currently have over twenty designer inspired rooms that reflect the unique ideas and inspiration they offer.
 
Over the years, they have remodeled and updated the look of the store and display rooms to meet the expectations of their customers. Their team is dedicated to helping you design a home to be proud of; one you can enjoy for years to come! You may enter as strangers, but you will leave as friends!
